Review & Swatches : Ciate London – The Pretty Palette

- Beauty, Make up

When I heard of Ciate London, I think about nail polishes, not makeup.  So, when I saw the display on my local Sephora store, I was pretty excited to test something out.  Then I saw the eyeshadow palettes.  They are new, and there are three palette options; The Pretty Palette, The Fearless Palette, and The Fun Palette.  They retail for $35 and you get 9 shades, so I thought it really is a pretty good deal for Sephora prices.

So, I picked up The Pretty Palette and brought it home with me..

The palette is very compact and quite lightweight.  It also comes with a decent-sized mirror – which is great for travel.  It contains 4 shimmery shades and 5 mattes.  I personally think the color selection was ok.  The mid-tone brown, is way too warm for my liking.  The two light shimmery shades are very similar, that I would prefer to have a different shade.

The quality of these shadows is a hit-and-miss.  All the shimmery colors and the flesh tone shade in the middle, is great.  They are very creamy, amazingly pigmented and easy to blend.  However, the other four matte shades, are a major downer.  They are very powdery and chalky.  The pigment won’t stick and show up.  They’re very hard to blend.

So, to be honest, I am quite disappointed.  I really love half of the palette, and can’t use the other.

Have you tried any makeup products from Ciate?  Let me know what your favourites are from the line and the ones I should stay away from.

Thank you so much for dropping by!  Y’all have a great day, I’ll talk to you soon ok.

Much love,
