Recently there has been a ton of new launches in the drugstore department, and as always, it greatly excites me and I of course, I have to pick up a few things to test and review for you guys. It’s all for a good cause, right?
One of the things that I picked up is a new eyeshadow palette from Rimmel. There are 3 palettes in total, which all reminds me of the Urban Decay NAKED eyeshadow palettes. I have never tried Rimmel eye products, and since I have other neutral palettes, I decided to pick up the dark, smokey one, called Grunge Glamour.
As you can see, the tones of the colors in this palette are quite dark and grungy – appropriate name for the palette. There are 12 shades on total, 7 of which are shimmery and 5 are satin/matte colors.
The 2 lightest satin/matte shades [white and blush shade] are not as pigmented as the other colors and a bit patchy when swatched. All the shimmery colors swatched really nicely and pigmented, except the 2nd last color, which is a black with silver shimmer, does not transfer too well. They are all feel creamy and blend really well.
Overall, I think this collection is a great alternative to the Urban Decay NAKED eyeshadow palettes. It retails for $7.99 at Ulta and Target – which I think is a great price for the quality of the shadows and the amount of color options that you get. You can definitely use the lighter colors for natural, everyday eye looks, and use the dark shades to create really dark, edgy, smokey eye looks.
Let me know if you’ve spotted or tried this product, and what you think of it.
Stay tune and don’t forget to subscribe on the blog to receive notifications of new posts, as I will be doing more review on other drugstore launches 🙂
Thank you so much for dropping by, I’ll talk to you soon.
