In-depth Review & Demo: Revlon Youth FX Fill+Blur Foundation & Concealer

- Beauty, Make up

Hello guys, it has been awhile since I last posted a beauty video.  If you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel, you’d see that I have been posting vlogs and one baby Zoey update video.  Today, I’m so excited to share with you a drugstore foundation and concealer review, so let’s begin shall we..

I do not have much luck with Revlon products, especially their foundations.  However, when I was walking in Walgreens one day and I saw their new products display says; “YOUTH FX FILL+BLUR” – I can’t just look away.  So I decided to pick up and test their foundation and concealer.  You know I have large pores on my face and fine lines under my eyes, I was wishing that these products would help to cover those issues.  Oh, how I wish..

Foundation Overview:

Price:

$16.99 – Walgreens

Shade:

Buff [a little too light].  There are 12 shades in total

Application:

Best applied with a damp sponge.  Because of the consistency of the foundation is a very thick cream, it’s very hard to blend the product with a brush.  Primer is still needed to extend the wear of the foundation.  Right after application, skin looks really smooth – it blurs my pores really well.  I also set it with a powder, as the product feels sticky, bronzer and blush do not blend very well without the powder.

Coverage:

Medium-full coverage

Finish:

A demi-matte finish

Longevity:

It does not last long on the face at all.  With a primer, I can get a 4/5 hour of wear before it starts to seperate, get cakey and patchy, but without a primer, the foundation breaks just after 2 hour.

Final thoughts:

Pros:

– Initial application is really nice, it really smoothes out the pores

– Packaging is nice for travelling

– Gives a nice medium-full coverage

Cons:

– For a foundation that is marketed for mature skin, the foundation feels too thick and heavy

– Does not last long, it gets patchy and cakey after a few hours only.

Concealer Overview:

Price:

$13.99 – Walgreens

Shade:

Light.  There are 6 shades in total

Application:

I always apply my under eye concealer with a damp sponge and set it with a translucent loose powder.

Coverage:

Medium-full coverage

Finish:

A demi-matte finish

Longevity:

It wears the same way as the foundation; it does not last long, and starts to break apart and crease only after a couple of hours

Final thoughts:

Pros:

– Initial application is great, it does not crease.

– Gives a nice coverage

Cons:

– Does not last long, it gets patchy and cakey after a few hours only.

Overall, I think these products would be great for pictures or if you are only going to wear it for a couple of hours.  As I was editing the video, I definitely think the foundation looks really flawless on camera – however, in real life, it feels quite heavy and cakey.  I took my make up off literally right after I’m done editing [after I make sure all the clips looks ok!] to let my face breathe 🙂

Have you tried these products?  What do you think about them?  Please let me know down in the comment section below 🙂

Thank you so much for dropping by!  I wish you all a great day, and I’ll talk to you soon..
