AN ATTEMPT ON NEW IT COSMETICS PRODUCTS

- Beauty, Make up

This would be my 3rd time testing out IT Cosmetics products, the very first time it was a huge hit, the second time it was quite a fail, and this time I didn’t come with much expectations but definitely excited to share this review with you guys..

IT Cosmetics is definitely one of those make up lines that I really wish all their products work on me.  I love how all of their makeup products are infused with amazing skincare benefits and being 30, if my make up products can also help me to care for my skin, I think it’s a really great bonus.  However, I haven’t had much luck with their coverage products – so far the one that I’m really loving and continue to recommend it to my friends is the Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+ – this CC cream is BOMB!

But being the makeup junkie that I am, I’m willing to keep trying – and this time, I’m trying their new Bye Bye Lines Foundation and Bye Bye Under Eye Concealing Pot.  Again, just like their other products, these two are infused with a lot of skin care benefits; anti-aging, hydration, lots of different peptides and vitamins – basically lots good stuff for your skin and also providing pigment and coverage.  I have played around with these two products for a week now and here’s my thoughts on them..

Foundation Overview:

Price:

$38 at ULTA

Shade:

Light [there are 7 shades in total] – and this shade matches me really well.

Application:

Applies really well with both damp sponge and brush.  Interestingly, both tools gave me the same amount of coverage.  I recommend to use a primer underneath to both extend the wear and for the foundation to stick on better on the face – as this foundation is quite light and hydrating, it’s one that is easily slip off and disappear from the skin.

Coverage:

It gives a light coverage with one pump.  If I put another layer with an extra pump, it’ll give me a medium coverage.  It evens out my skin tone and some of the redness around my nose, but I’m still able to see some of my hyperpigmentations and acne spots.

Finish:

It has a natural finish – and it’s one of the things that I love about this foundation is that it looks like you’ve got a healthy skin.

Longevity:

Now, this is not the most long-wearing foundation, especially it’s still Summer, makeup just generally melts faster my face.  Hence, I highly recommend using a primer and powder to lock this foundation into the skin.  With primer & powder, I could get a decent 6-7 hr wear time.

Final thoughts:

I think this would be a great everyday-foundation option if you have dry skin or mature skin or if you are looking for a foundation to wear for the Winter time.  I love how the foundation feels very comfortable, super lightweight on the skin and it makes your skin just look healthy!   When it comes to the ‘Bye Bye Lines’ claim, I don’t think it really does so – I don’t have lines other than on my undereye areas, but when I tested wearing this foundation on my undereye areas, it still settles into the lines and creases – so if you have wrinkles and lines, don’t expect that this foundation will ‘seamlessly conceal’ those lines and gives your a ‘perfect complexion’ – BUT – it does make your skin looks healthy.

Concealer Overview:

Price:

$28 at ULTA

Shade:

Light – shade is tad bit too light for my liking and has a slight peach tone to it, but if you really like the look of a super light/brightened undereye areas, I think it will work for you if you are around my skin tone.

Application:

Best applied with damp sponge – as the formula is quite thick and hard to blend.  I honestly think that the consistency of this concealer feels exactly the same like the Bye Bye Under Eye concealer.  I have tried that concealer in the past and it did not work for me.

Coverage:

It has a medium-full coverage.

Finish:

It has a satin finish

Longevity:

This concealer does last a decent 7-8 amount of time BUT my, oh, my, it is a crease-chaos-world.  I applied it very lightly on my under eye areas, and blend it with a damp sponge and set it right away – and it creases right away.  I have tried putting an extra layer of hydration onto the under eye areas and applying a hydrating primer – but none of those tricks worked, this concealer creases like nobody’s business and accentuate my lines and making them look much worse.

Final thoughts:

So, I’m gonna say bye bye to this concealer pot.  I honestly think that this is just the same as the other concealer, except this one comes in a pot instead of a tube.  I don’t think that this one is more hydrating even though it claims so.
